June Singing

July 7, 2009
I always download videos into different blog folders and some of these folders are getting pretty big. They love to sing, but usually stop once I get the camera out.
Emma likes to sing Rock a Bye Baby when she's all bundled up in a towel after she gets out of the bath. She asks for "rock a baby".
video
Emma likes to sing along to the Sesame Street intro, but as you can see she stops when she notices that I'm recording her.

ICE AGE 3: Dawn of the Dinosaurs opens today!!

July 1, 2009
Ice Age 3: Dawn of the Dinosaurs opens today!! Make sure you head out and see it this week or weekend. We are hoping for good opening weekend box office numbers. We'll be headed back to the area Friday morning for the week. On the 5th we'll be seeing Ice Age 3 at Flagship in New Bedford if anyone's interested in joining us. Not 3D because the babies would never keep those glasses on. Let us know if you want to join us and we'll let you know what time we'll be seeing it.

It already got great reviews from Pete's cousins Cindy and Rachel ----

Rachel & I saw "Ice Age 3 Dawn of the Dinosaurs" It was great...best one out of the three!!! Go see it people!!!!! :D

Hiking Swan Lake

June 30, 2009
Sunday we decided to take a trip back to Tarrytown and visit some of our favorite places. First stop was Rockefeller State Park to hike around Swan Lake. We hadn't used our hiking stroller since last summer, so Pete had to fix the flat tires. Emma decided to run/walk almost the entire 1 1/2 mile hike.
video
Landon decided to ride in the stroller for most of it, but got out to see the geese. video
We saw so many animals. People ride horses around the lake a lot and walk their dogs. Here's Pete trying to catch a frog.
video
I've never seen so many turtles in one place.
We picked up lunch and had it on the Hudson River with a view of the Tappen Zee Bridge and boat yard.If everyone can remember that used to go see the fireworks with use in Tarrytown every year. This used to be a huge field and now they have built condos. It looks so unreal. Huge signs everywhere that say No Tarrytown Fireworks This Year. video
Then we stopped at the ice cream store that we always went to and Landon got to try some cookie monster ice cream.

BBQ with friends

June 29, 2009
Saturday we had some friends over for a BBQ. All the kids had a lot of fun playing together. Our swing set has never had so many kids on it. We need to remember to stake it into the ground for the next BBQ. video
Meghan had a lot of fun with the older girls Annika and her friend. video
Katie liked hanging out with them too.
Our friend James stopped by for a little bit.
It's amazing how well James has learned to speak over the last year. I couldn't help but sneak a video.
video
Emma loves to play with Meghan,
video
but Saturday she loved playing with Katie. She kept yelling Katie where are you. video
Landon flirting with the girls.
Layla even stopped by to visit. We haven't seen her since she was a newborn.
Landon taking a break.
Here they are playing with Matt.
video
I would have to say that all the kids had the most fun blowing bubbles with Sarah. Meghan was very upset when she had to go home to bed and leave her new friend Sarah.

Racing at the Wallings

June 28, 2009
On the 19th we went over to hang out with the Wallings. I kept trying to remind myself to use my camera that had fallen in the water to make sure it still worked. The kids were racing around the porch. My camera worked perfectly, knock on wood.
The babies tried out their scooter and really liked it.

Taryn is doing really well with her words. She does say Landon and Emma, but not in this video.

Then the dads came and met us for pizza and a game of basketball.

Skipping

June 26, 2009
Tuesday was sunny and it's been raining all the time around here. I called Pete and asked if he wanted to go to the park for lunch. I don't know where the babies learned about skipping, but they both started to try skipping.
video
video
So cute to watch them try skipping. I had to try and remember how to skip myself.

After working up an appetite we headed over for some ice cream at a little place we found in Armonk. We've learned to get Emma an empty cone and she's happy.

Who's The Best Gramps?

June 25, 2009
I don't think any other Gramps would offer to babysit twins by himself. Gramps came to visit Monday afternoon to watch the babies while Pete and I went to the premier and wrap party for Ice Age 3. The babies were napping when he got here, so he went up to get them with me. video
They were attached to Gramps the entire time he was here. They helped him fill the bird feeder. We put chili pepper in to try and keep the squirrels from climbing up the bird feeder. video
They had so much fun playing with Gramps.

Gramps did such a good job and he was very proud of himself for changing two bowl movements (his words). Thanks Gramps!
The babies are really starting to show their emotions more lately. I told them that Gramps had to go home and they both got sad. I don't think Landon really thought he was leaving because he went out through the basement. We watched him from the window and I think Landon thought he was just putting things in his car, but when he drove away Landon got very sad. Little did we know he had just driven over to ask our neighbors something. He came back to let me know what they said and Landon was happy to give him a goodbye kiss and hug.
